So I spent the entire day organizing our re-purposed family room into a sewing room/office and took a lovely series of photos to show you how it is coming along.
And somewhere, in the bins of things I have yet to put away, is the USB cable for my camera.
So the photos will be held captive in the camera until the cable surfaces.
In any case, I am more happy with this arrangement than how things were crammed in there a few weeks ago when we reorganized the house. THAT project involved:
- Moving the library and a leather sofa from the family room into the spare bedroom (we love it now...note to self: take photos for blog)
- Moving all sewing furniture and paraphernalia from the third floor down to the family room (involving two very efficient professional movers who handled all 180 pounds of the very bulky quilting table with ease that made it sooooo worth paying them to come out)
- Moving my office furniture from the living room to the family room (thank you, movers)
- Purchasing a new desk for Eric to use in the living room (looks so much more manly than my whitewashed pieces; need to take photos)
Unfortunately, I found myself very unhappy with the way in which the movers placed the furniture in the family room (which was exactly where I told them to put it) and sort of avoided the problem until today. As I am not as muscular as the movers and there is only one of me, it took me three hours to simply rearrange what they carried down flights of winding stairways in twenty minutes. It was well worth the effort; I am much more pleased now with the space: it looks more planned than crammed.
So I'm off to the kitchen now to grate some Vermont extra-sharp aged cheddar (the kind in the green package at Costco) to make mac and cheese for supper. Josh got braces this morning and if he's up to eating, I think the mac and cheese will meet the "soft" food criteria.
Have a great evening!
